چکیده

A main task in designing IC/PCB is to pack rectilinear modules under various constraints and objectives. If modules are all rectangles without any positional constraint, recently proposed BSG and Sequence-pair based packing algorithms have been proved to work fast enough for practical use. Focusing BSG, to support an e ective use, this paper develops techniques to handle rectilinear modules and modules with positional constraints. First a solution is proposed for pre-placed modules. It is to give a linear order to the oating modules following which they are embedded in packing. In the course, the pre-placed modules are considered as the constraints such that no oating modules are forbidden to be placed. The packing of modules including rectilinear ones is solved by applying the above techniques after rectilinear modules are sliced into a set of rectangles. Experimental results on industrial PCBdata showed that the proposed algorithm outputs high quality packings.

VLSI circuit placement with rectilinear modules using three-layer force-directed self-organizing maps

In this paper, a three-layer force-directed self-organizing map is designed to resolve the circuit placement problem with arbitrarily shaped rectilinear modules. The proposed neural model with an additional hidden layer can easily model a rectilinear module by a set of hidden neurons to correspond the partitioned rectangles. With the collective computing from hidden neurons, these rectilinear m...

Arbitrarily shaped rectilinear module placement using the transitive closure graph representation

In this paper, we deal with arbitrarily shaped rectilinear module placement using the transitive closure graph (TCG) representation. The geometric meanings of modules are transparent to TCG as well as its induced operations, which makes TCG an ideal representation for floorplanning/placement with arbitrary rectilinear modules. We first partition a rectilinear module into a set of submodules and...

A Generalization of M-Small Modules

In this paper we introduce a generalization of M-small modules and discuss about the torsion theory cogenerated by this kind of modules in category . Also the relation between injective hull in  and this kind of modules will be investigated in this article.   For a module  we show...

A relative extending module and torsion precovers

We first characterize $tau$-complemented modules with relative (pre)-covers. We also introduce an extending module relative to $tau$-pure submodules on a hereditary torsion theory $tau$ and give its relationship with $tau$-complemented modules.
